Favourite things to treat:
I am passionate about men and women maintaining their fitness levels at all stages of their life, whether that be pregnancy, postnatal recovery, menopause or beyond. I have a particular interest in chronic pelvic pain and complex pelvic floor dysfunction.
Leanne has a wide range of experience in public health care, sports injury clinics and corporate settings since graduating in 2008.
Her career started in the NHS where she quickly specialised in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, rehabilitating people back to sport or fitness post injury or surgery. She moved into private practice in 2013 and has worked for both large corporate companies and small private clinics in London, including five years working in a gait lab rehabilitating runners and athletes back to sport.
Leanne’s passion for womens and mens health started in 2016 when she realised that her female athletes needed a more in-depth level of care. Her passion has spiralled from there and she’s worked as a specialist womens and mens health physiotherapist in the NHS and in private practice. She has a varied and wide range of experience, including the treatment of chronic pelvic pain, vulvodynia and vaginismus, incontinence, menopause symptoms, endometriosis, erectile dysfunction and hard flaccid syndrome. She is incredibly passionate about returning people back to activity and enabling them to achieve their goals. Her keen interest in musculoskeletal biomechanics and its relationship to pelvic floor dysfunction enables her to look holistically at the body and tailor her treatment to the needs of the individual.
Her work with large corporate companies, including Morgan Stanley and Sony, has given her a great insight into the effects of posture and working biomechanics and their effect on pain and recovery. She understands the challenges that patients face managing a busy work schedule with physical well-being.
In addition to Leanne’s skills as a womens and mens health specialist she is a member of the Pelvic Obstetric and Gynaecological Physiotherapy and the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists and has undertaken courses to further her knowledge in this area.
In her spare time Leanne enjoys running and weight lifting, and walking her dog Otis.
